Simply put... STRAIGHTER = STRONGER. The easiest way to accomplish this, in our opinion, is to ensure that our billets are never sawn.
When billets are arbitrarily cut in a manner that maximizes "yield" (number of billets that can be produced from each log), it's inevitable that there will be a much higher grain slope than our hand-splitting method.
